I don’t know about you, but I am so happy that the days are getting longer again. Although it’s not officially spring yet, the crocuses in my yard are telling me that it’s just around the corner. Karen came out to my house and planted some garlic in my garden last fall and I was so thrilled to see it coming up. Unfortunately, so were my chickens. They broke through the fencing I had put up and devoured every bit of green. Sigh.
Aside from that, there are many fun things happening this month…
First, the stars have aligned, and we have been booked to play at Remlinger Farms on Pi Day! How perfect is that? March 14th, 3.14, Remlinger pie, four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie… I know people still think our band name is a weed reference, but no, it honestly comes from the nursery rhyme. We have two brand new original songs that we are looking forward to sharing with you. Bring your friends, drink beer, eat pie, and we’ll do our thing.
Second…drum roll…our first EP will be releasing on the same day!!! This is a collection of seven songs recorded at the live studio concert at Top of the Hill Studios last summer. The EP will be available on all the usual streaming sites and we will have CDs available for sale at the Remlinger show. Steven Bell has done a great job producing this EP and we are super excited to finally have CDs.
I’m also looking forward to the March of the Vegetables parade in Duvall on March 29th. We’re not playing, but Long and Strange will be. I’m just looking forward to dressing up like a vegetable, because that’s how we roll in Duvall.
Happy Spring, everyone. May your chickens be better behaved than mine.
